The Heart of The Garden Alchemist
This space is more than just a collection of plants and pathways; it’s where ideas are born, experiments take shape, and creativity flows freely. As a garden designer, my outdoor space is both a sanctuary and a workshop, constantly evolving as I explore new combinations, techniques, and concepts.
Beyond design and experimentation, my garden is deeply personal. It’s where I unwind at the end of a busy day, where I share moments with family and friends, and where I reconnect with the natural world. Whether I’m tending to the borders, sitting with a morning coffee, or simply listening to birdsong, this space grounds me.
My Garden at Christmas
Christmas brings a different kind of magic to my garden. A quieter, more atmospheric beauty that only winter can create. While much of the planting rests, the space takes on a soft, enchanting glow, revealing the structure, textures, and small details that often go unnoticed in the livelier months. For me, this is when the garden feels its most peaceful, inviting slow moments of reflection, creativity, and gathering.
One of my favourite places in the garden at Christmas is my outdoor entertaining area, a space I’ve created for gathering, feasting, and celebrating, even on the chilliest winter days. This setup allows me to host Christmas dinners and winter get-togethers surrounded by nature, without sacrificing comfort. It’s a place where the garden and the celebration blend into one, where friends and family can sit beneath hanging evergreens, share food, and experience the magic of the season outdoors.
