Garden Transformation in Fleet, Hampshire
This garden transformation uses a distinctive 45 degree layout to draw the eye through the space. As a result, the garden feels longer, more inviting and easier to enjoy throughout the year.
A covered timber pergola creates a comfortable outdoor living area. Integrated heating and lighting allow the space to be enjoyed beyond the summer months.
Two bespoke floating benches provide generous seating. Meanwhile, porcelain patios and pathways create a clean, contemporary finish.
Generous planting softens the structure and adds texture, colour and natural character. As a result, the 45 degree layout draws the eye through the garden and helps the space feel longer. Because of this, the finished layout feels structured without losing the relaxed character of the garden.

A striking architectural pergola forms the central feature. From here, a curved gravel pathway and stepping stones guide movement through the garden.
A circular stone patio provides a welcoming area for seating and entertaining. In addition, layered planting adds texture, colour and seasonal interest.

3D Garden Design Project
Dan begins each design with hand drawn concepts. Next, he develops the ideas into a detailed 3D visualisation.
Next, the realistic images show how planting, pathways, materials and structural features work together. In addition, day and night views reveal how lighting changes the atmosphere.
Before construction begins, clients can review the layout and make changes with a much clearer understanding of the finished garden.
As a result, clients can explore their future garden and make confident decisions before construction begins.
Consequently, fewer decisions need to be made once landscaping work is underway.

We cannot recommend Dan and his team highly enough. Dan, Alan and Steve completely transformed the front of our home and were a pleasure to have around – attentive, thorough, tidy, considerate and hugely knowledgeable. From our first meeting, Dan was easy to talk to and really listened to what we wanted. He offered excellent advice on the design, materials, planting, low-maintenance options and longevity, and made thoughtful suggestions throughout. Importantly, he was prepared to challenge our ideas when a better solution existed. If we didn't understand something, he took the time to show us what good looked like – and what could become an expensive mistake! We quickly learnt to trust his judgement. The statement steps Dan sourced for the front of our bungalow are simply stunning. They tie beautifully into the house and have created a real wow factor. Friends and family (and even our postman) have all commented on them and how completely different the house looks now. It is genuinely a delight to come home to. Just look at our before and after picture! Dan also understood our budget and where we wanted to prioritise it. Yes, we spent more on the statement steps than the planting – and we are so glad we did. His advice on the planting was equally spot on. Everything, from the overall design and use of the space to the smallest details, was meticulously considered. A huge thank you to Dan, Alan and Steve. We absolutely love the finished result and would recommend them without hesitation.Posted on Google![]()

Every now and then, someone comes along who just really gets you and what you’re trying to create. For us, that was Dan. About six months after moving into our house five years ago, the newly built and rendered garden walls started falling apart. Holes appeared, render fell off and the metal underneath began showing through. It turned out the previous owners’ builders had used internal metal and render on the outdoor walls! We were quoted around £7-9k just to put the walls right, which got us thinking: if we could stretch the budget a little further, could we not only fix the problem but create a much more usable and interesting garden at the same time? So we approached Dan with a fairly tight budget and lots of ideas. From the moment we met, we connected. We had a similar sense of humour, a mutual respect and, most importantly, a shared enthusiasm and passion for creating something special. Dan listened to what we wanted and started developing designs. We worked through several versions. Inevitably, some of our ideas were beyond the budget! Together, though, we worked out what mattered most and arrived at a plan we were genuinely excited about. Throughout the process, Dan constantly found clever ways to save us money without making the end result feel any less special. Dan, Alan and Steve, ably assisted by Nellie and Doris, the two dogs, worked on the garden for around two weeks. From day one, they worked incredibly hard and clearly took real pride in what they were creating. Any unexpected issues were dealt with professionally and efficiently, and we were consulted whenever decisions needed to be made. They also cleared up brilliantly after themselves, and the dogs, and Dan coordinated all the other contractors, so we didn’t have any of that hassle ourselves. One of the real highlights was going with the team to choose the planting. It meant we could pick out plants we’d always dreamed of having in the garden and made us feel even more involved in creating the finished space. And we absolutely love the result. It exceeded our expectations. We now have a garden we genuinely want to spend time in and love inviting friends round to, with three distinct areas: a social space, a BBQ area and a proper chill-out zone. On the final day, we celebrated with the team over a glass of fizz, sitting on the garden sofa under the pergola, listening to the bees buzzing around us and the water feature trickling in the background. It felt like the perfect end to the project. Dan came back the following day to make sure everything was OK and, a few days later, we received a beautiful photo album documenting the whole build. Such a thoughtful and lovely touch, and a wonderful reminder of the project. We started out needing to fix some crumbling walls. We ended up with a garden we love, and really enjoyed the whole experience of creating it along the way. Thank you Dan, Alan, Steve, Nellie and Doris! Best Wishes, Claire LeighPosted on Google![]()

Dan was recommended to us by a neighbour and we are so glad. Dan and his amazing team initially did some work on the front garden area and we were so impressed we decided to utilise them for a larger piece of work in the back garden. The work was completed on time, the quality of the work was excellent and we are so thrilled with how everything turned out. Dan's knowledge of plants were excellent and you can tell he has a real passion for this. A special shout out to Steve and Alan for their continued hard work and they were all genuinely lovely guys. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Garden Alchemist, great guys that do a fantastic job and if you feed them with tea and biscuits you will make good friends for life !!! Thanks so muchPosted on Google![]()

Stunning, that’s how we describe the garden that Dan has delivered. His design, construction and choice of plants are perfect, we wouldn’t change anything. We now have a beautiful space to socialise with friends and family or just to enjoy on our own. We couldn’t wish for anything else. Dan and the team have been enthusiastic and fun throughout and we highly recommend them. Chris and AndyPosted on Google![]()

A lot of companies offer hard landscaping designs and installation, but if you are after someone who can offer that but also really knows and understands his plants, then Dan is your man. His team worked hard in all weathers to complete our project and we are very pleased with the end result.Posted on Google![]()
